Contemporary Acrylic Paintings
A Canadian artist, Carolyn currently lives and paints in Paris, France.
Carolyn uses colour, shape, and movement that touch on conflict, passion, and universal themes. She is currently working on her Above the Clouds series that look at our life divisions from a distance like the view from a plane at 30,000ft.
Toronto Abstract Artist
Carolyn studied Art History at the University of Toronto. She has always had a great appreciation for the creativity used in abstract art. With favourite artists ranging from Kandinsky and Miro to contemporary mentors, Carolyn enjoys the mental stretch of creating what doesn’t exist from what we currently know and understand. Her themes revolve around conflicting emotions and their balance or interaction. Depending upon the series this could be opposites in conflict like joy and sorrow or it could be aligning conflict like laughter and tears.
Working largely with acrylic paint and various pencils, pastels, and chalks to create her abstract paintings, Carolyn enjoys learning and drawing from other art forms through artist workshops and various art courses.
